June Birthstone - Alexandrite, Moonstone & Pearl

If you were born in June, you're lucky enough to have three birthstones to call your own! June is one of only three months (the others are August and December) that have three birthstones. Between Alexandrite, Moonstone and Pearl, people born in June are spoilt for choice.

Alexandrite

Many myths and legends describe alexandrite as a carrier of good luck, especially when it comes to love and finances. Alexandrite is well-known for its remarkable colour changes — green in sunlight and red in incandescent light.

Moonstone

Moonstone is a modern gemstone that is often gifted for 13 years of marriage and every succeeding year after that. Symbolising properity and passion, moonstone is said to balace the positive and negative sides of the mind.

Pearl

Pearls are the only gemstone to come from a living creature, with all others being created under the Earth's crust. Natural pearls are amongst the rarest jewels in the world, with approximately 99% of pearls believed to be cultivated. In addition to its classic beauty, pearls have long been considered to symbolise loyalty, purity and clarity, making this birthstone a perfect gift for a friend or relative.

The Best Jewellery from the Met Gala

The theme for this years Met Gala is In America: An Anthology of Fashion. Which celebrates American fashion and is the second of the two-part series from the Metropolitan Museum of Art - the first, called In American: A Lexicon of Fashion, held in September 2021. This years dress code is Gilded Glamour, taking inspiration from the time period 1870 to 1890 - The Gilded Age in New York.

April Birthstone Diamond

Our all-time favourite gemstone, diamonds are April’s birthstone for those lucky enough to have an April birthday.

Formed deep under the Earth’s crust billions of years ago, diamonds are amongst the world’s most sought after treasure. We’ve adored and adorned diamonds for centuries, believing they’re the ultimate gift and symbol of eternal love. The Ancient Romans believed Cupid's arrows were tipped with diamonds; this connection is possibly the earliest association people made between diamonds and romantic love!

The word “diamond” comes from the Greek word “adamas”, meaning invincible or indestructible. Due to the fact only a diamond can cut another diamond, the name seems very fitting.
